Nurturing an inclusive ecosystem for BIPOC representation in STEAM
Our Mission
We exist to provide resource development, advocacy, outreach, awareness, programming, and support to culturally specific STEAM organizations that serve BIPOC youth and families. We must prepare youth of color, with a focus on African American youth, for a future in the STEAM workforce by providing access to culturally responsive, best-in-class opportunities in STEAM education and training that support development of STEM identity. We work with the community, government, schools, and industry to make that happen. By us. For us. Not without us.
The Importance of STEAM Education in the BIPOC Ecosystem
The integration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) in education has proven to be a powerful tool in empowering BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) youth, families, and individuals. By nurturing critical skills necessary for innovation and problem-solving, STEAM education has the potential to bridge existing racial and socioeconomic disparities. Our unwavering commitment to inclusivity within STEAM initiatives aims to address these disparities head-on. Through advocacy for representation and enhanced accessibility, we actively work towards cultivating a more equitable and empowered community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and contribute.
